On-Court Playability
From the baseline the EZONE 98 (2025) offers a really friendly blend of power and control: there is enough pop to hit through the court, but the slightly denser 16x19 pattern and 98 in² head keep trajectories predictable. Multiple playtests report noticeably more pocketing and a softer, more connected feel than the 2022 version, which helps with touch shots and directional control. At net the racquet feels quick yet solid, with good feedback for drop volleys and angles. On serve it rewards aggressive swings with plenty of pace and spin, while the moderate 320 swingweight keeps it manageable over long matches for a wide range of intermediates and advanced players.

Full Overview
The Yonex EZONE 98 (2025) updates one of the most popular 98 in² frames on the market with a new, slightly revised mold and softer layup while keeping the familiar 305 g unstrung weight and 16x19 pattern. The beam is a little wider toward the tip to enhance stability and power, and the new Minolon dampening plus Yonex’s flexible graphite package give a plusher, more DR-like feel than the 2022 version. It’s designed as a modern, all-round players racquet that blends easy power and spin with precise targeting.

Amazing power and comfort — easy to generate depth with less effort. It’s not a spin monster, but stable and satisfying overall.
Comfortable feel and confidence hitting heavier balls. A bit less maneuverable than some 98s, but very solid in most areas.
Good comfort, but I didn’t feel it gave enough power for my game compared to other rackets I’ve tried. Still solid, just not the right fit for my style.
Good stability and feel. I liked it from the baseline and at net, though adjusting to volleys took some time initially.
Surprised by how much power I could get without sacrificing control or comfort. Stable and confident, and I could attack rallies aggressively.
